Classes will focus on creating and developing 2D designs into 3D artwork. All projects are structured based on the elements of art and principles of design with different cultural emphasis.
Classes start May 6, 2007.
Each class is 2 hours long. No more than 10 children per class. Parents are welcome to sit-in the classes with their children.
- You may sign-up for either Saturday or Sunday at 10:30am-12:30pm or 4-6pm .
- Friday classes can be scheduled - 5-7pm
Cost of classes:
- Sign up for a session of 8 classes - $168 ($21 per class)
- A session of 4 classes - $96 ($24 per class)
- Drop in rate (if space is available) - $30 per class
Lessons Description and Projects Samples:
1st Saturday/Sunday: Basic 2D graphic design this lesson will focus on the elements of art and principles of design. Students will use a combination of lines and shapes to create unique designs.
2nd Saturday/Sunday: Basic Painting - this lesson will focus on color theory. Students will create a fun painting from last week design.
3rd Saturday/Sunday: Mandala this lesson will focus on the origin of Mandala. Students will create a mandala design and transfer that design onto a ceramic plate (students may choose size and shape and cost of plate will be added as a material fee)
4th Saturday/Sunday: Printmaking this lesson will focus on the art of printmaking. Students will learn the basic steps and techniques in making a print.
5th Saturday/Sunday: Asian Fan this lesson will focus on the art of Asian paper fan. Students will create their own design and learn how to construct a paper fan.
6th Saturday/Sunday: Clay - this lesson will focus on the techniques and skills in working with clay. Students will create an object with clay. (Animal, pinch pot, basket, pencil case, etc)
7th Saturday/Sunday: Student will paint their clay piece from last week with a well-planned design.
8th Saturday/Sunday: Sand painting this lesson will focus on the origin of sand painting. Students will use colorful sand to create their own masterpiece!
